Nick and Kelsey’s COVID Elopement

June 17, 2020

COVID canceled Nick and Kelsey’s wedding. COVID did not cancel their love nor joy.  They don’t know when the big party with all their friends will take place but they knew they still wanted to celebrate their special day – the day they had been looking forward to for so long. As honored and excited as I was to be shooting again, I honestly didn’t know what to expect… Would there be sadness/disappointment? Less special? Nope. This was one of the sweetest, most meaningful days. SO special. I wonder if it has to do with a couple that is fully focused on getting married and enthusiastically committing to one another than hosting a party and 150 guests? I’m not sure. All I can say is I smiled and laughed the ENTIRE DAY as I got to watch these crazy two. Such a joyful celebration. I’m proud of Nick and Kelsey for putting love first and making the most of their big day even if the party had to be postponed. (…and after seeing these two on their elopement, I can assure you that their party in 2021 will be AMAZING). Congrats Nick and Kelsey! So grateful and excited for you both.

After first look with dad, Kelsey and Nick stood back to back to share gifts, laughs, prayers, and of course tears.

Time for the ceremony! We ventured down a local trail and picked a beautiful spot that would work perfectly. Kelsey didn’t have an aisle but hid behind her father’s suit jacket until Nick turned around to see her… *My favorite part!*

Remember the “Ride or Die” card?? Well here’s Kelsey surprising Nick with a leather jacket she added a little art to… He loved it.

Cue reception! By this time, the family was back at the Airbnb ready to party. We kicked the night off with a toast and making it official.

Due to travel restrictions, neither of Kelsey’s beloved brothers could make the trip out. Here are some of the sweetest Facetime moments I’ve ever witnessed.
